A hemiplegic patient sitting in a wheelchair for a long time, wearing a lower limb exoskeleton robot on his leg, immediately moved freely. It may seem incredible to you, but in fact, this is exactly the vision of the rehabilitation robot.
Some patients do not do rehabilitation training after orthopedic surgery, after the bone is long, the joint appears adhesion, there are obstacles in action, leaving a lifetime of regret; Some stroke patients miss the golden period of recovery two or three months after surgery, and as a result, they can go to the toilet and bathe themselves, and become unable to take care of themselves and sit in a wheelchair.
Rehabilitation treatment has become a necessity for some patients to recover after surgery. At present, there is a serious shortage of therapists in the entire medical rehabilitation industry, the price of foreign rehabilitation robots is high, and the supply side of hospital rehabilitation is insufficient.
Rehabilitation robot is a good choice. "This kind of robot, which is similar to mechanical bone, can allow patients to carry out high-intensity rehabilitation training every day and free the repetitive work of therapists, but it has not been popularized in every hospital," said Gu Jie, founder and CEO of Fourier Intelligence.
According to a "Several Opinions on Accelerating the Development of rehabilitation AIDS industry" issued by The State Council in 2016, by 2020, the scale of rehabilitation AIDS industry will exceed 700 billion yuan.
However, at present, the payment ratio of medical insurance and commercial insurance for rehabilitation is too low, and it does not cover the field of rehabilitation robots, the financial pressure of patients is greater, and the public's awareness of rehabilitation has not been established. This opens up opportunities for the industry.
In response to this pain point, intelligent rehabilitation robot developer Fourier Intelligence launched a rehabilitation robot that is only a fraction of the price of foreign rehabilitation robots, to help hospitals improve rehabilitation efficiency and quality, and help patients better recover.
Fourier Intelligence was founded in 2015 and its products include a lower limb exoskeleton robot and an upper limb rehabilitation robot. In the entire industry, the number of companies focusing on rehabilitation robots is small and mostly in the early stage, Rui Han Medical, Da Ai Robot, Mai Fu Robot, etc., have also launched upper limb or exoskeleton robots. In terms of technical level and commercialization, Fourier Intelligence is relatively ahead.
